The 2020 Ford Mustang will benefit from a renewed energy boost

The Ford Mustang of the current generation has evolved the game of the pony car in many ways. An independent rear suspension, 10-speed automatic transmissions and an efficient four-cylinder turbocharged engine make it a sports car far more powerful than ever.

This 310 horsepower four-turbo engine was so good that it finally ousted the base V6 engine from the lineup in 2018. It still lacked a mid-range engine to bridge the gap between the latter and the V8 of 4 liters developing 460 horses. This may be about to be completed for the 2020 Mustang, as a recent vehicle identification number from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, identified by Hagerty, shows two variants of the four turbo's 2.3 liter well known in the range of engines to come.
