The 2022 Morgan Plus Four CX-T officially takes Morgan off-road

The model name comes from the CX unibody chassis, which Morgan uses for its Plus Four and Plus Six models, and the “T” stands for trails. The CX-T uses a Plus Four chassis and powertrain and combines them with a reworked Plus Six suspension. The engine is a 2.0-liter inline-four from BMW, developing approximately 255 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It gets 39 miles per gallon.

The suspension is also tweaked slightly to make the Plus Four perform better, and it gets coilovers. Even though the CX-T doesn’t seem to have good ground clearance, all mods almost double the ground clearance of the standard Plus Four, from 4.7 to 9 inches. Not bad.

The CX-T also has a hardtop and roll cage, inside and out. It benefits from numerous underbody protections, including “an engine guard, a rear frame guard, a midsection bumper and a rear wheel arch”, according to Morgan.
