This implies that Lance is sort of vying for the starting quarterback position, which he isn’t. However, saving something for Green Bay would make a lot of sense after registering four games against the Lions.
The Packers’ defensive line doesn’t have a two-game sack and doesn’t bring in the deep, very good rotation like Philadelphia does. It stands to reason that Lance could be more on the court against Green Bay where he has time to do readings and is less likely to make a swing error.
If Lance plays and spawns an explosive play or two in a 49ers win, that might be enough to knock the 49ers out of 11th place.
