The 49ers shadow Aaron Donald’s Deebo Samuel with “ Jeopardy! ” video

Aaron Donald won’t live this one, will he?

The dominant Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle sadly asked “Who is this?” when a report asked how the Rams were preparing to arrest 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel. Samuel reminded Donald of this after Samuel’s career day when the 49ers beat the Rams on Sunday, as did legendary 49er Jerry Rice.

The 49ers social media team had some fun Wednesday with a nod to “Jeopardy!”

Aside from the continuity issues – a “Jeopardy!” the clue would be written in the form of an answer, to begin with – it’s a solid shade. After four straight wins over division rivals, with Samuel catching 24 of 30 targets for 248 yards and one touchdown in those wins, why wouldn’t the 49ers be confident?

Samuel was at his best against the Rams on Sunday, recording 11 receptions (on 13 targets) for 133 yards. The 24-year-old has never caught more passes or been more focused in his NFL career, as he’s only finished two receiving yards below his professional record.

The 49ers also improved to 15-5 in the regular season with Samuel in the roster, ending a three-game losing streak and living to fight another day in the NFL playoff race. As long as Samuel remains this important to the 49ers’ offense, Donald will have a hard time forgetting the name of the receiver and, perhaps, an even more difficult moment to pass because he already has.
