It's in this space that I could normally draw your attention to something like Martin Scorsese's new documentary Bob Dylan, currently streaming on Netflix. But this bastard lasts two and a half hours, and I'm not, for example, doing free time. I hope it's good? People seem to think it's good. I would love to see him someday. 5. JPEGMAFIA – "The Who" (Dir Ariel Vida)
This one is a cheat, really. It's more a short film than a video clip, but it's also a company-sponsored link to a record company's "shared video universe". Black mirror/Mr. Robot-ass universe further, at least not if more JPEGMAFIA songs are not involved. But I'm stupid for a good fight scene or a better head explosion. If it makes a mark, so be it.
4. DaBaby – "Carpet Burn" (Dir Reels Goats)
This guy has redone the video "Tease Me Please Me" Scorpions for 2019, so what he pivoted to make excessive fun of the guy he beat in a mall a few weeks ago. This guy probably did not need more mockery – not when the film itself was already so decisive and humiliating – but I still enjoy the nonsense.
3. The chemical brothers – "Eve Of Destruction" (Dir Adam Smith & Marcus Lyall)
The Chemical Brothers made great videos when Powerful Morphin Forest Rangers was still a dumb show for kids, and now they still make great videos, including the one that uses Powerful Morphin Forest Rangers as a nostalgic point of contact. It's longevity!
2. Shura – "religion (you can put my hand on me)" (Dir Chloe Wallace)
It is such a relief to spend four minutes in the world of this video, where the Catholic Church is beautiful, who accepts and does not fear the real human pleasure. And it is such a brake to return to the present reality, where the Catholic Church is what it is.
