While the 707 horsepower Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is monstrously fast, a new rule has emerged in the form of the Dodge Durango SRT Pursuit, at least, conceptually. Built for the Tire Rack One Lap of America event, the Powerful SUV is a breathable running vehicle that breathes in every sense of the word with 797 hp in power. This mountainous exit is powered by a Hellcat Redeye engine, and just like the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, all four wheels are powered for optimal offline speed.
Named "Speed Trap" successfully, the project construction process was documented on Dodge Garage, including the installation of all its quick upgrades, the highlight being its supercharged Hemi V-8 6.2 liter.
Dodge apparently does not intend to produce this vehicle of the world, but he is obviously capable of building such a vehicle – and he would probably sell well to high-speed models who adore the big carriers. The ability to drive unpretentious in a vehicle more powerful than a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is continually attractive and, thanks to many other improvements, it seems almost as fast as it is; it's saying something when it's an SUV.
The Durango SRT Pursuit offers stability improvements in the form of lowered suspension and 305 mm tires borrowed from the Dodge Challenger Hellcat Widebody. Braking power is facilitated by 15.75-inch brake discs with six-piston calipers at the front and 13.78-inch discs with four-piston calipers at the rear. The rear seats have been removed in this case and, in their place, you will find a roll bar made to measure for more security and rigidity.
As mentioned, the vehicle was created to participate in One Lap of America, an enthusiastic event that lasts a week as participants crisscross the country by car, track by track, in their race cars. A set of tires per vehicle is allowed for the entire trip, including track sessions, which could pose a problem for the Durango SRT Pursuit – but that's just the price you pay for a grocer like this.
