Piers Morgan described as "shameful" the "snub" of President Trump's visit by Meghan Markle.

The Duchess of Sussex was not present at the state banquet and attended any of the D-Day celebrations during Donald's three-day visit to the UK last week.

And while the palace revealed that she was not present because of her maternity leave with little Archie Harrison, journalist Piers insisted she was avoiding him because of her personal dislike for the President.

MEGHAN MARKLE TO PARTICIPATE IN LUNCH WITH PRINCE HARRY, DONALD TRUMP AND QUEEN ELIZABETH DURING THE STATE VISIT

Piers described his non-presentation as "unacceptable" and insisted that it was his royal duty to meet the leader of his native country like her husband and other members of the royal family did it.

In his column for the MailOnline, Piers said, "I'm sorry, but isolating at home is just not an option for ANY member of the Royal Family.

"In doing so, she was not just giving the metaphorical bird to Trump, as she would most certainly have wanted, she was giving it to her host, the queen, her country that he represents and the country that she represents now. "

He also accused her of placing her personal convictions before the commemorations of D-Day veterans.

Piers then lamented that she then broke her maternity leave a few days later on her way to Trooping the Color on Saturday.

He concluded, "I have a news for you, Mrs. Markle: you are in the closet now, and that means you will do your homework when it is needed.

"Staying at home, then showing herself all bright and cheerful by the time Trump left, she has shown a selfish disregard for the royal duty."

The Duchess certainly did not hesitate to express her feelings towards Trump in the past.

Meghan, 37, born in Los Angeles, has accused her of being "misogynist" and "divisive" during her 2016 presidential campaign.

The ex-Suits actress is also committed to voting for her rival Hillary Clinton.
