The account of the CEO of Twitter hacked on Twitter with racist epithets

If you can believe it: the head of Twitter's Twitter account has been hacked.

And of course, the messages were littered with racism and all sorts of vulgar nonsense – which has become commonplace on the social media addiction platform.

The verified account of co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey, sent to his 4.2 million subscribers included messages using "n-word" and antisemitic remarks. One person even suggested that a bomb had been installed at Twitter's headquarters and others asked that some accounts not be suspended.

Some of the offensive tweets were left in place for 30 minutes before being finally deleted.

According to the BBC, a company source confirmed that the hackers had used a technique called "simswapping" (or "simjacking") to seize Dorsey's account.

The San Francisco-based social media giant is investigating the case and has suspended the accounts of the hacker and their collaborators who retweeted the offending messages.

Dorsey, who has already been hacked in the past, has awarded his own company a "C" for "technical responsibility" last February, while admitting that the industry is not doing enough to fight misuse and misinformation online. .
