The trial of a man accused of killing two women in their California homes – including one who was dating Ashton Kutcher – began Thursday in Los Angeles, reports said.
Michael Fox 11, Michael Gargiulo, 43, is accused of killing Maria Bruno, 32, in 2005, and Ashley Ellerin, 22, prosecutors said. 2001.

Ellerin was killed one night when she was supposed to go to a party with Kutcher at a post-Grammy Award night, the outlet reported.
Kutcher would have gone to Ellerin at about 10:45 pm PST 21 February 2001, 48 hours reported in 2012.

Gargiulo was also charged with attempted murder against another woman during a robbery committed at her home in Santa Monica in 2008.
The air conditioning repairman pleaded not guilty to charges laid at the time, reported the Associated Press. Gargiulo's lawyer, Anthony Salerno, then stated that Gargiulo was "categorical, he was not involved".
The trial, which began Thursday with the opening of the proceedings, is expected to last six months.
Gargiulo also faces a murder charge in Illinois for stabbing an 18-year-old woman to death in 1993.
