The best weapons of the ascension

There are a wide variety of weapons to get your hands on in The Ascent.

From the loot you find, every version of the same weapon you find will be the same, there is no variation in the stats of the things you collect. So once you’ve found a weapon once, you’ve basically unlocked that weapon for the rest of the game.

If you choose to upgrade a weapon with your limited components, any such guns you find later will also be upgraded, so you don’t need to sell them either.

By the end of the game you should have found enough components to upgrade a few to Mk 5, so while you have to choose relatively wisely how you spend your materials, there is room to experiment with one. little.

Fear

Once you start taking on robotic enemies that are resistant to physical attack, you’ll want to pair it with an energy weapon. However, an upgraded Dread could accompany you for most of the game.

HFC heat

The HCF is a modified hand cannon that sets enemies on fire – which is a hell of a thing, right?

You can find it on your own in an abandoned building in the city’s Gratitude Quarter relatively early in the game.

This is great for taking out tough enemies, as fire deals damage over time as you retreat and find shelter.

Astrosmasher

If you are a character armed with heavy weapons, it is difficult to look past an automatic rocket launcher.

The Astrosmasher is dropped by an early game boss and is worth a try.

EBR executor

This energy-based burst rifle is, to me, by far the best weapon in the game.

Energy projectiles – which also target enemies – take a bite out of all types of enemies, including those that resist regular physical attacks.

With a big clip, quick reload, and great damage potential, the EBR Enforcer is a versatile monster.

The deal breaker

This weapon is a bit of a spoiler, so I won’t say too much about it. I’m only talking about this because you can easily walk straight past in pretty much the last area of ​​the game.

Keep your cool and look for this chest in the lower corner of Silo 86.

The best increases in the ascent

One of the defining elements of Cyberpunk fiction is the implementation of biotechnical augmentations that increase the capabilities of the human body to a fantastic degree.

In The Ascent, these changes lean towards the ultra-violent.

They also tend to have a relatively long cooldown, so I find they are best used to get you out of a tight spot, especially as the end of the game approaches.

Spider robots

From the moment you get them as a reward for a mid-game boss, Spiderbots are an incredibly powerful tool in your arsenal.

Not only do they take aggro off your character when you need to blow up, but their AoE damage is enough to take out even some of The Ascent’s strongest mobs.

Rat bite

When you return to the Deepstink for the third time in the story, be sure to open the ICE 2 door in the garbage disposal area and collect the rat bite increase.

This rallies enemy monsters to fight alongside you for a limited time – another great way to keep aggro away from your character.

Propulsion jump

Speaking of crowd control, if you want to take a more proactive approach to thinning out the herd, then the boost in propulsion jump that you also get as a boss reward is another to consider.

With relatively low power and recharge cost, this AoE splash is good for covering distance as well as taking out multiple enemies at the same time.

Neutron beam
