The Aston Martin Vanquish 25 debuts as Callum's first standalone project

Obviously, only 25 will be built.

Last month, Ian Callum, former designer of Jaguar and Aston Martin, launched his new company after his retirement from JLR. The Callum design group presents its first project, based on the original Aston Martin Vanquish and which will be strictly limited to 25 copies. Meet the Vanquish 25, modern interpretation of a classic new school in the making.

It's not just about making some visual improvements to the original Vanquish, because all the cars will be disassembled to bare metal and rebuilt from scratch with new materials and technologies, and "inspired". The process will take place in Callum's Warwick studio and will include subtle and significant changes, both on the surface and under the skin.

"There are problems with the car I've always wanted to fix," says Ian Callum. "Now, I'm lucky."

Callum, in collaboration with partner companies such as R-Reforged, based in the UK, has already built two prototypes: one for the development of the suspension and another for highlighting the exterior and interior elements. The 25 cars will benefit from a V12 engine with software, hardware and exhaust improvements for a power of nearly 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts). Callum will offer a new six-speed automatic transmission, while the original automated manual of the car will also be available.

While retaining its original appearance, the reborn Vanquish will benefit from modern technologies and features such as LED headlights and taillights, wider carbon-ceramic brakes, 20-inch wheels, special Michelin tires, new cabs with sports seats, system-based infotainment system display, and more.

In fact, Callum's first project has been under construction for several months. Although Ian Callum has joined fairly quickly, his design partners David Fairbairn, Adam Donfrancesco and Tim Bird have already done a lot of work. Donors' cars for the Vanquish 25 series will either be purchased by the company itself or by existing owners.
