The Avengers project is a title of "Game of the Year"

In January 2017, Square Enix announced a multi-game partnership with Marvel, which would allow it to create several games based on Marvel's properties. To date, only one of these games has been announced: The Avengers projectwhich is a placeholder name for a Avengers game in development at Crystal Dynamics. Although we know The Avengers project exists, that's just about everything we know. When the game was revealed in 2017, Square Enix had promised more information in 2018, but we are in 2019 and we have no news of this project. Alas, the only new information on the game that has been revealed has been provided by various job offers, which provide tiny information about the work of Crystal Dynamics.

For example, a job offer for the position of narrative director makes several references to the story of the emotionally charged game. The same list also sheds a light on the ambitions of Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics for the title, which are apparently quite large.

Crystal Dynamics indicates that candidates should not only be passionate about games, but also "have the ambition to create a game title of the year". From now on, each studio aims to create a game title of the year, which is normal, especially for a Crystal Dynamics studio. However, marking this intention in the position requirements is a bit more and seems to suggest that Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics really are shooting for stars with this one.

When we consider that it is a Avengers game we are talking about, it may not be very surprising. Nowadays, you do not make a Avengers game without intent to make it the biggest and the best game possible. And I'm sure Marvel would not have signed the agreement if he was not confident that Square Enix could meet the expectations that flow from the creation of Avengers game, but any Marvel title.

At the time of publication, Square Enix had no news about the platforms or a release date, but we hope this will change next month at E3, where Square Enix will be present and will put a bailer.

As always, do not hesitate to leave a comment to tell us what you think or contact me on Twitter @Tyler_Fischer_ and let me know there. Do you think The Avengers project will live up to the hype?
