"The Batman:" Jonah Hill joins Robert Pattinson in the latest Pic – Variety

Batman of Robert Pattinson might have found his first co-star.

Sources tell Variety Jonah Hill is in talks to join Pattinson in "The Batman" by Matt Reeves. Insiders also say Jeffrey Wright is in talks to confront Commissioner Gordon.

According to sources, producers had long wanted Hill for the project, but casting decisions were suspended until Batman's role was fulfilled. The agreement has not been reached and sources say it could still crumble, but both parties pledge to join Hill. Regarding who plays Hill, it has not been determined yet, but sources say he is looking for a role of villain.

Warner Bros. and representatives of Hill and Wright could not be reached for comment.

The pre-production of Warner Bros.-DC Comics is scheduled to begin this summer. No official start date has been set, although insiders say Variety filming could start in late 2019 or early 2020.

Reeves, the original filmmaker of the last two suites of "The Planet of the Apes", assumed the direction of "Batman" of Ben Affleck in January 2017 and has since developed this elusive project. Affleck was in talks to leave his Batman role after "Justice League", allowing Reeves to pick his own Bruce Wayne. Dylan Clark, Reeves associate in the "Planet of the Apes" is also associated as a producer.

Hill played alongside Emma Stone in the science fiction series "Maniac" of Netflix. The actor has also evolved behind the camera in recent years. Matthew McConaughey's latest film, "Beach Bum".

Wright was recently seen in WB's "The Goldfinch" and starred in HBO's "Westworld".

Hill is relaunched by WME and LBI Entertainment.
