LaMelo Ball returned from a prolonged absence with a broken finger to lead the Spire Institute to a 102-83 victory over Springdale Prep at Towson University in Maryland.

But we will also remember the match for the fight that ensued in the second half.

Midway through the second period with Spire up 69-50, the ball was deflected off the field after Springdale Prep attempted a shot. A Springdale Prep player then used his elbow to make contact with a Spire Institute player during the team reset. This prompted him to push and push and then a cheap punch from the same Springdale Prep player. The two benches emerged as the teams faced off against coaches and officials trying to separate them.

Ball seemed to be standing outside the group of brawlers, often raising both hands above his head while he was watching her. (The fight starts at 8:41 in the video below.)

During the match, Ball was a generally unselfish man, often preferring to open his teammates to a range of high-flying dunks.

Ball finished with a double-double in the night with 14 points and 12 assists.

He left with a dunk injury later in the game and did not return.
