BMW is preparing a new generation of M3s, but foreign buyers will be able to choose an alternative in the form of the new B3 from the semi-official Alpina BMW tuner. The car was unveiled in its Touring body style Tuesday at the Frankfurt International Motor Show. A sedan is also on the pipeline.

The original sports sedan Series 3, which BMW does not offer in the United States, is already very attractive, but Alpina has managed to turn the car into an even more beautiful brute with unique fascias at the front and at the rear, exhaust tips for four, and the brand's multi-spoke wheels. A 19-inch set is standard, but a 20-inch set with a 20-spoke design, as shown here, is available.

Under the hood is the 3.0-liter Inline-6 turbocharged that is normally found in the M340i. Here it is designed to provide 462 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. With such figures, owners can expect an acceleration of 0 to 60 km / hr approaching 4.0 seconds and at a top speed of over 186 km / h.

Alpina collaborated with ZF, the manufacturer of the 8-speed automatic transmission of the 3 series, to guarantee the B3 a faster response and faster turnaround times. Alpina has also added the 3-wheel drive system to ensure maximum traction.

The B3 is currently available for order and is expected to begin deliveries in mid-2020. It is unlikely that the car will reach the United States, but other Alpina models are sold here. The latest arrival is the B7 based on the 7 Series and an upgraded version of the upgraded BMW X7 by Alpina is expected to join in the near future.
