The northern state's man accused of killing the young teenager of social media Bianca Devins has been formally accused of his murder, police officials said.
Brandon Andrew Clark, 21, of Cicero, reportedly cut off Devins' throat, then posted a photo of his lifeless body on Instragram, where he stayed for almost a day before being kidnapped.
The authorities accused him of second-degree murder Monday night – a class A-1 offense. He will be sentenced to 25 years in prison, if convicted.
Clark sliced his own throat after apparently taking the life of Devins, said cops as they stood in front of responding officers. He then lay on his body and took "self-pics" with the deceased, 17, according to police.
"Other officers arrived in a few moments and together they committed themselves [Clark]", Said the police in a press release." They were able to disarm the man and, after a brief fight, they detained him. "
Clark and Devins would have been dating for about two months after they met online. They attended a concert in Queens Saturday night and would have quarreled at the show. Police believe the two men then returned to Utica, where investigators say Clark killed her in a side street after being arrested.
The cops said they accused Clark after talking to him. He was brought to trial on Monday for the murder charge and was detained at the Oneida County Detention Center after undergoing surgery for his injuries.
"His injuries were serious," the police said. "However, he should survive."
