Just in time for the football season, the Broncos pitch has a new name.

Starting with their home opener on September 15th, the Broncos will play at Empower Field.

This new name is the result of a 21-year contract between the Broncos and Denver-based Empower Retirement, which manages retirement plans.

The Broncos played at the Mile High stadium of the franchise founded in 1960 to 2000. This stadium was demolished and the Broncos moved into their new stadium, known as Invesco Field at Mile High from 2001 to 2011, which was renamed Sports Authority. Field in 2011. When the sporting goods retailer ceased operations, the Broncos went in search of a new sponsor to name their stadium. They have it now.
