The Browns took a shot to take down Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs

The Browns are one of the most talented teams in the NFL from top to bottom.

The list is filled with guys who can play.

And when they got into Kansas City and had the Chiefs in the grip for three quarters, it looked like they were finally going to take a step in the right direction. Needless to say, they bent like a lawn chair at a fourth trimester family reunion, lose to KC 33-29

Whenever you play frog-voiced Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, you know the margin for error is slim, especially when they’re in attack mode and coming back from behind. Baker Mayfield and the Browns played so well before the last trimester. You can’t deny the Browns are one of the best teams in the NFL, but they just don’t have that “this” factor again as chefs do.

It’s like when Popeyes came up with his popular chicken sandwich and some people thought it would make a run at Chick-Fil-A for the crown of the fast food chicken franchises. We realized very quickly how irrational this thought was. It’s the same thing. Browns are Popeyes and this year’s list is a delicious chicken sandwich that will be good but will it ever be good enough to outdo Chick-Fil-A ??

The Chiefs know how to make plays when they matter most. They’re one of those teams that just have championship-level DNA. This is where they differ from almost every other team in the league. And that’s where the Browns need to go. We can talk as much as we want about the choice of Mayfield at the end of the game, or the bettor forgetting how to use his hands to catch the snap late in the game, but the problem is bigger than these two games. They have to get that clutch DNA and that confidence as a team.

As for the Chiefs, teams catch up with them every year and they desperately need to help this defense improve. They can’t just rely on Mahomes to be a Marvel character and save their universe every time they find themselves in a tight spot.

These will be two teams that win a lot of games this season and could possibly see each other in the playoffs. I would love to see these two teams fight again in the AFC Championship game. Pray that everyone can stay healthy.
