It might have looked like a tank team, but he's not the Bulls coach. Jim Boylen's way. He said it very clearly by announcing his starting unit on Saturday.
"I think they owe them their elbows," Boylen said, questioned about the approach to be taken by unqualified teams for playoffs like the 76 winners at this point of the season. "I think they have to compete. Iron sharpens the iron.

Even with a career high of 29 points from the reserve JaKarr Sampson, the underutilized Bulls (22-58) lost against the 76ers 116-96. It was their sixth loss in their last seven games.

When asked why the Bulls were waiting to announce that the four of them were finished for what was left of the season, Boylen replied, "I'm not sure."
What he was sure of was that Markkanen worked with cardiac monitors and that all tests he has had to date have become negative.
"We are very optimistic about his position and his position," Boylen said. "He is in a good mood and they always make daily assessments of his position."

LaVine said that he would definitely look.
"Yeah, because you're interested in what's going on with your team," LaVine said. "I have no control over what's going to happen, but you're interested in seeing how things are going to unfold over the next four or five months."
