The Cadillac CT4 2020 sedan made its official debut with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and rear-wheel drive at the base.

General Motors describes the Cadillac CT4 as a vehicle "ready to appeal to a new generation of luxury sports customers," thanks to its "RWD proportions and athletic design." Like other vehicles in the Cadillac range, it will be offered in a base level Premium version, with high-end luxury and sport versions. The CT4-V performance model debuted earlier this year and will eventually be joined by a more performance-focused Blackwing CT4-V, as noted earlier.

The CT4's 2.0-liter engine is powered by GM's LSY four-cylinder line and develops 237 horsepower and 258 pounds of torque. GM's 2.7-liter L3B four-cylinder engine is also available on Premium Luxury models (in addition to the V-Series) and produces 325 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. The 2.0-liter is coupled to GM's eight-speed automatic transmission, while the 2.7-liter is coupled to a ten-speed. All-wheel drive is available on all models, while a driving mode selection system with Tour, Sport, Snow / Ice and Track settings is standard. A customizable custom mode is also present in the drive selection system, allowing users to choose their own settings for transmission, suspension, steering, braking feel and, on all-wheel drive models, the distribution of forward / backward power.

Inside, an eight-inch touchscreen is the centerpiece of the cab and is connected to a standard color digital driver display. Other standard interior features include keyless entry with push-button start, leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, active noise cancellation, LED interior lighting and HD rearview camera. The CT4 also uses GM's next-generation electrical architecture, which provides live updates, better connectivity, and increased security against cyber attacks.

The order books for the Cadillac CT4 2020 will open later this year, GM said. It will be built at the production site of Lansing Grand River, Michigan, alongside the Cadillac CT5. Prices and additional information will be announced shortly after the start of regular production.
