mmWave is a 5G frequency bundle that promises lightning-fast speeds over short distances, making it better suited for dense urban areas. In comparison, 5G below 6 GHz is generally slower than mmWave, but the signals travel farther, serving suburban and rural areas better. All four ‌iPhone 13‌ models support frequencies below 6 GHz outside of the United States, and networks below 6 GHz are more common in countries that have rolled out 5G.
