Ghosts was developed through Lionsgate’s agreement with BBC Studios. The pickup makes it 3 for 3 for Lionsgate, which has seen its three 2020 broadcast comedy pilots go into series: Ghosts at CBS and This country at Fox – both based on BBC formats – and Domestical economy at ABC.

the Ghosts pilot, cleared in February but delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, was shot down in December. The decision to pick up the series comes as options on the cast were about to expire at the end of the day today. This is the third CBS 2020 comedy pilot to secure a series order, joining Chuck Lorre B positive and United States of Al, who are making their debut this season.
