Long-time hockey commentator Don Cherry called the Carolina Hurricanes a "jerk tape" on Saturday night.

And if the sales of t-shirts are an indication, they adhere fully to this label.

The Hurricanes announced Sunday that they would start selling officially licensed shirts with the "Bunch of Jerks" logo on the front, above the Hurricanes logo. Shirts, printed in Raleigh, North Carolina, and designed by BreakingT, sell for $ 32 each.

"You asked, and we delivered about 20 hours later," said Mike Forman, vice president of marketing and branding Carolina, according to ESPN.

Cherry, the commentator for "Hockey Night in Canada," described the Hurricanes as "a group of shakes" in a speech about their unique victory celebrations, which recently featured a limbo line.

"It's the National Hockey League. These guys, to me, are fools. They still do not draw (supporters). And I'll tell you one thing: they'd better not do it in the playoffs, "Cherry said Saturday night.

"I know the rest of the people, all broadcasters are afraid to say something … I know what I'm talking about, you never do anything like that, they still do not draw (fans). as far as I'm concerned. "

Hockey teams traditionally celebrate their victories with five-way high lines and salute their audience. For Captain Justin Williams, choreographed celebrations are a way to bring a "fun element" to wins for both the team and its fans.

"The stick wave in the end became a little bland, a bit monotonous, it was like we had to do it," Williams said in October. "It adds a different element, hockey is fun, we win a game we want to celebrate."
