Tesla sent an email to its employees on Thursday warning them of leaks of company information, especially from the press.
The e-mail, which has been leaked to the press, apparently pits Tesla and his employees against "strangers" and those who "will do everything we can to fail".
"Thanks to our success, we will continue to arouse the interest of people who will do everything we can to fail," reads in Tesla's e-mail. "This includes people who are actively seeking proprietary information for their own benefit, targeting Tesla employees via personal networks or social networks such as LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter. "
In the past, leakage of information did not generate the greatest sympathy for Tesla, especially with regard to the existence of product problems and tenuous trade relations. The email details nearly half a dozen examples of recent breaches of confidentiality and actions taken by Tesla against these employees.
"Tesla will take action against those who inappropriately disclose proprietary business information or violate the non-disclosure obligations we have all subscribed to," he continues. "This includes layoffs, compensation claims and even criminal prosecution."
It then invokes employee confidentiality agreements and offers resources to those who "may benefit from training or a more complete understanding of how to protect our intellectual property and our confidential business information."
