The court of appeal seems uncertain about whether Obamacare can survive

NEW ORLEANS – A panel of federal appeals judges insisted on whether Obamacare could survive in this afternoon's pleadings in case this could undermine the 2010 Health Care Act.

The three Republicans appointed to the panel of three judges frequently interrupted lawyers to ask them whether the individual mandate of the Affordable Care Act was unconstitutional and, if not, whether the law as a whole could be to pass.

The committee is currently reviewing a federal judge's December ruling that the elimination of the individual mandate penalty imposed by the ACA by Congress in its 2017 tax reduction nullified the law as a whole. The future of ACA seems confused after two hours of oral argument today at the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in the US.

The lawsuit was filed by 18 states led by Republicans and is supported by the Trump administration.

The case should eventually be referred to the Supreme Court, which could decide the fate of Obamacare next year, at the height of the 2020 campaign.
