The Crazy 5G video gives the impression that the 4G looks like garbage – Tech

We know that the 5G Internet connection is fast. It's nice of the essential. However, most of us have not used it yet, so it's hard to get a fair idea How it can be fast.

Fortunately, there are some viral videos on Twitter to help keep this in perspective. Verizon's George L. Koroneos on Thursday shared a video on the type of download speed that the carrier's new 5G network can achieve on a Samsung Galaxy S10 5G. The results are, well, a little staggering.

The SpeedTest application (full disclosure: Mashable's parent company, Ziff Davis, owns SpeedTest) does not even allow to correctly visualize the download speed obtained by Koroneos, which exceeds 1,000 megabits per second. For reference, the WiFi of our office did not exceed 100 Mbps using the same test method.

To be clear, this video shows a network whose availability is currently very limited on a recently launched phone limited exclusively to Verizon. It will be a long time before most Americans achieve such results.

However, for now, it's nice to see that the dream is slowly becoming a reality.
