Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy will be back on the IMAX screens in a special film in five 70mm cities on the occasion of Batman's 80th birthday.

Announced by Warner Bros. Pictures, the three films in the trilogy – Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises – will premiere on Saturday, March 30 at Universal Cinema AMC in CityWalk Hollywood, California. Between the second and third films, Nolan himself will join the audience for a moderate discussion on the films.

The trilogy will take place on April 13 at AMC Lincoln Square in New York City and at AMC Metreon in San Francisco. Finally, performances on April 20 at Cinesphere Ontario Palace in Toronto and the IMAX Theater at the Indiana State Museum in Indianapolis will close the event. These will be accompanied by images of Nolan's Q & A session in Los Angeles.

All screenings will feature Nolan's favorite IMAX 70mm format films. While the last two films were partially shot in 70mm, Batman Begins was not. However, it was converted to IMAX format in 2012 for the creation of The Dark Knight Rises. Tickets for all sessions will be on sale from Wednesday, March 13 at 9:00 am, and those who purchase movie tickets will receive a lanyard and a special Dark Knight Trilogy collectible item.

"Christopher Nolan broke new ground with the Dark Knight trilogy, and it's a rare chance for today's audiences to experience these extraordinary films as they were meant to be," said Jeff Goldstein of Warner Bros. "Having the added privilege of hearing Chris's ideas himself makes it a unique opportunity."
