After arriving in a beta this weekend, the Slack Workplace Chat application released a dark mode feature in the latest iOS and Android application update, which should be deployed now.
If you change this setting, the default white background of the application will become black. Whatever the reason you want to use a dark mode in Slack (it's simpler for the eyes, it can help save the battery life, and in fact, it looks good and you ardently want every application you use to adopt) on mobile should be able to realize the dream as soon as the update will be available on your phone.
To enable this feature, the obvious first step is to make sure you have the latest version of Slack (version 19.3.1.0-B-9754-1). While the application of my colleague Chaim Gartenberg on iPhone already offered the option of dark mode, I have not yet seen the update appear in the Google Play Store for my Android phone – I had to join the beta again to force a version with dark mode to download. Once the update is installed, simply press the three vertical dots in the upper right corner, then select settings and find the nested dark mode switch. Switching to dark mode will cause the application to restart, then your chat window will change from white to black.
Slack's release notes regarding the application update indicate that dark mode is currently restricted to mobile devices. 9to5Mac points out, he is ready to arrive on the desk at a later date.
