A family of eight people who lost their lives last year when their SUVs passed over a California cliff died in a murder-suicide, the Coroner's Jury said Thursday.
The Mendocino County Jury unanimously decided that Jennifer and Sarah Hart had committed suicide and were leading their six adopted children – Markis, 19, Hannah, 16, Abigail, 14, Devonte, 15 years, Jeremiah, 14, and Sierra, 12 – until their death at the March 2018 accident, according to the Associated Press.
The jury's decision was made following a death investigation.

The family was declared dead after the discovery of their SUV at the foot of the cliff, north of San Francisco.
The bodies of the two women, along with four of their children, were found and the remains found in one shoe were identified as belonging to a fifth child. However, the body of Devonte Hart has never been found.

During Wednesday's forensic investigation, legographer Greg Pizarro said that Jennifer Hart – who was driving the vehicle for the fatal accident – was intoxicated and had a low fuel burn rate. blood alcohol level of 0.102. Meanwhile, his wife Sarah's body contained a toxic level of Benadryl, said Pizarro.
