Democratic presidential candidates face a more difficult path to participate in the party debate in November.
The Democratic National Committee announced Monday that White House candidates now have two ways to move to the debate stage after the publication of a poll after September 13. First, they can receive 3% or more support in four polls from the country's electors or anticipated voters. States of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina or Nevada. Alternatively, they can qualify if they get 5% of the vote in two single-state polls that examine respondents in the same states named in the beginning.
In addition, applicants must attract at least 165,000 unique donors, with 600 contributors per state in at least 20 states. The new rules come after the party has raised the standards of at least 1% in three polling stations and win 65,000 donors, with 200 contributors from 20 states for the June series, to at least 2% in four polling stations and 130,000 unique donors, with 400 contributors. of 20 states for the rounds of September and October.
The next debate will take place at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio on October 15 and 16.
