Prepare to quack

Bluepoint Games is a pretty special studio. They’ve managed to squeeze a few remakes out of the park so far and are undoubtedly in high demand from publishers around the world. Souls of the demon on PS5 was their last success; which preserved the spirit of the original while adding a fresh coat of next-gen paint.

The developer is also known to be a little cheeky at times, as evidenced by this video shared this week. Tech artist Collin Harris (who was previously at Bluepoint and is now at Gearbox) tweeted this gem, revealing that during testing, Souls of the demon the developers had access to a suite of cute rubber ducks.

Basically, Harris says, they used them to “test various effects / technologies” with it, and “things got out of hand pretty quickly.” Don’t go looking for this in a hidden room somewhere, or even a hacked version. Harris confirms that “all the things you see in the video (including the coin and the duck) were [temporary] and I didn’t get near the game over. “

You love to see it! It’s great when the developers share little jokes like these for otherwise intensely serious games.
