The nostalgia was great early in the week when Paramount released the first big-screen adaptation trailer of the classic Sega video game Sonic the hedgehog, it sounded fun, but the internet had a problem: the teeth of the titular character.

As soon as the trailer dropped, fans of the video game seemed to forget Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise" as a cross-country run and focused the entire Internet reaction on Sonic's chompers (voiced by Ben Schwartz). People went on Twitter and called his teeth "goosebumps" and "nightmarish". Director Jeff Fowler responded to concerns on Twitter.

"Thank you for your support, and the criticism," he tweeted, "The message is loud and clear … you're not happy with the design and you want some changes, it's going to happen." Everyone at Paramount & Sega is fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be … "

This is not the first time that fans are wondering about the new version of Sonic live-action. When the first glance of the fast hedgehog like lightning appeared in December, people immediately criticized the sculpted calves of Sonic.

Sonic the hedgehog follows Sonic's (bad) adventures as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his new friend, the best human friend, Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and prevent the evil Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. Fowler directs a screenplay by Patrick Casey, Josh Miller and Oren Uziel, a story by Casey and Miller. The film should be released on November 15th.
