The Miami Dolphins are holding their breath, as they could be without quarterback Tua Tagovailoa for the remainder of their Week 2 game against the Buffalo Bills and possibly longer. In the Dolphins’ second practice of the game, Tagovailoa tried to convert a 4th and 2, but was hit by AJ Epenesa on a pitch. He was able to limp off the field with the help of the coaching staff before being transported to the locker room.

The Dolphins have announced that Tagovailoa suffered a rib injury and it is doubtful to return. With Tagovailoa out, Jacoby Brissett took over as Miami’s flagman. It was a positive sign that Tagovailoa was able to leave the pitch, but being transported to the locker room is obviously not good.

According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Tagovailoa suffered bruised ribs. His x-rays are said to have come back negative, but he is in great pain. Pelissero says the MRI he gets tomorrow will determine whether the Miami starting quarterback is missing at any time.
