California police arrested an Uber driver who allegedly attempted to rob Airbnbn passengers that he had just dropped off at the airport.

An hour after Jackie Gordon Wilson laid down his passengers, surveillance cameras at the door captured his return home and attempted to break Thursday, according to the newspaper. San Mateo Police Department. After being thwarted by an alarm system, the police said Wilson was filmed in another house in the same neighborhood.

This house has been ransacked and many items have disappeared, police said. Among the stolen valuables were family items that parents had saved from the Holocaust, according to one of the owners identified by KGO-TV only as being Chana.

"For him, it was just something to pledge," she told the station. "For me, it was the memory of my grandmother."

The owners have posted an online burglary video and the owner of Airbnb has contacted his guests who have identified the suspect as their Uber driver, according to KGO-TV.

"We removed driver access to the application as soon as we were informed of the allegations and are ready to assist the police in its investigation," said Andrew Hasbun, head of communications at Uber, in a statement.

Wilson was arrested the next day, dressed in the same clothes as those shown in the videos, and the police managed to recover some of the stolen property. He had been held in San Mateo County Jail for burglary and attempted burglary.

"This case proves the interest of a home security system, especially with video," police said in a statement. "Law enforcement forces solve more crime with surveillance cameras and license plate reading systems."
