The duo writing "half-brothers" Will Ferrell & Adam McKay will separate after 13 years

Will Ferrell and Adam McKay decided to diversify and refocus their creative efforts. This will end one of the longest creative partnership relationships in the city. The duo met when he was hired the same day Saturday Night Live in 1995, 13 years ago, they formed with Chris Henchy the multi-platform comedy production company Gary Sanchez, which later became a women-centric branch, Gloria Sanchez. They have also collaborated on many successful classic films, including Presenter, Talladega Nights, half-brothers and The other guys. McKay made these films and Ferrell played them.

I am told that they remain close friends, but their Paramount-based production labels are expected to weaken over time. They will continue to carry out their existing projects and develop them with related producers. We warmly thank our incredible staff and leaders, as well as all the writers, directors and actors we have worked with over the years. We will always work together creatively and will always be friends. And we recognize that we have the chance to end this business as such. "

They developed their chemistry on SNL, where Ferrell quickly established himself as the outstanding performer of the series that began his film career with the hit Elf. McKay spent six years in the series, becoming senior writer his last years there. Beyond the blockbuster films they have made together, they have collaborated as producers on many projects, including Dad's house, the film directed by Sean Anders and starring Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Linda Cardellini, Hannibal Buress and Jon Cena, resulted in a sequel that added Mel Gibson and John Lithgow to the mix.

They also launched the viral comedy website Funny or die, which started with a series of comical viral short films that started with The owner.
