Doctor Who: Edge of Reality is an extension of an experience previously reserved for virtual reality called Doctor Who: The Edge of Time, developed with assistance from BBC Studios. Turning Doctor Who in a first-person screwdriver (FPS) title makes sense from a VR game’s perspective, but it seems to work just as well for less confined platforms like PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Nintendo Switch and PC. Classic who notes are present everywhere – eerie geometry and physics, varied and sometimes familiar settings reminiscent of beloved episodes, and there’s even a glimpse of a sequence where players roam like a Dalek. Other classic enemies are in evidence, beyond the Daleks. Cybermen and Weeping Angels are present, as well as others that Maze Theory has only hinted at so far.
