The Elder Scrolls 6 won’t be coming out anytime soon, according to an insider. When Bethesda announced The Elder Scrolls 6 at E3 2018, it didn’t announce a release date or even a release window. Over two years later, that has not changed. Bethesda hasn’t said a single important thing about the game. All it keeps saying is that the game isn’t coming out anytime soon, and according to an insider, that’s because it won’t. really not anytime soon.
Speaking of Bethesda, an industry insider Tyler mcvicker recently not only asserted that Fallout New Vegas 2 is in development, but he does not expect The Elder Scrolls 6 until 2026 at the earliest. For those who are bad at math, it’s five years away. Unfortunately, McVicker doesn’t provide any additional details, but suggests that Bethesda Game Studios focus on Starfield right now, which itself is still a year or two away.
If that timeline is correct, that would mean the PS5 and Xbox Series X generation will be almost complete by then. The Elder Scrolls 6 versions, assuming this generation is similar in length to the PS4 and Xbox One generation. If that sounds like a long wait, that’s because it is. However, it is not that long Fall fans will supposedly have to wait Fallout 5, which McVicker says won’t be released until the 2030s.
Now, it’s worth noting that it’s unclear where the scoop ends and where the speculation begins here. McVicker has proven to be a reliable source in the past, but since it’s unclear, be sure to bring everything here with an extra grain of salt. By the way, I’ve heard of late 2024 to late 2025, but not only was this information unverifiable, it was before the pandemic.
At the time of publication, there is no official release date or release window for The Elder Scrolls 6. In fact, platforms beyond the PC haven’t been officially announced either, and it looks like we won’t be getting any of this important information anytime soon.
