LOS ANGELES – Rescue teams went to the home of comedian Eric Idle on Monday night after being informed of the presence of a suspicious powder in an envelope, which turned out not to be dangerous, announced fire officials.

Police said that a resident of the address had called the police around 6:20 pm. NBC Los Angeles reported that Idle, 76, a long-time member of Monty Python's Flying Circus, whose comedy Broadway 's "Spamalot" musical had won a Tony Award, living at the address with his wife, actress Tania Kosevich.

Officials initially said that they were treating the scene as a possible fright to anthrax.

Late in the night from Monday to Friday, the Los Angeles Fire Department said that there was no risk and that two people driven to the hospital had been transported only as a precaution.
