No matter how good you are at your job as a working mom, there is always the lingering feeling that you could be a better parent.

It was one of the driving themes behind EqualizerThe Season 2 premiere on Sunday, as Robyn faced the aftermath of telling her daughter Delilah what she really made to live. As a result, Delilah did her best to avoid her former mother, a CIA agent, by staying with her father and new wife.

When she finally got home, she gave Robyn some nerve and made dry remarks that she couldn’t trust him. Robyn and Aunt Vi quickly put Delilah in her place – it’s a black household, after all – but later on, Robyn was still worried if maybe it was time to ditch the equalizer to spend more time. with his critical teenager.

Fate had other plans, and when bank robbers gunned down one of Marcus Dante’s fellow NYPD detectives, he turned to Robyn to hunt down the bad guys and make things right. Touched that Dante is finally starting to understand and appreciate how she achieves justice for people who cannot trust the law (of a real lawyer, no less), Robyn took the case and helped to connect the dots with the help of Harry, Mel and Bishop, of course.

The Equalizer, Detective DanteFirst, they found out who owned the safe and went to the guy’s house. But when Robyn and Dante arrived, Atticus’ house was in a mess and there was blood on the floor. The couple searched the house and found Atticus’ young daughter hiding in one of the closets. The girl said that men had come to their home and her father told her to hide. The men beat and tortured Atticus and then took him away.

Robyn and his team dug a little deeper and discovered that Atticus had dealt with rogue CIA agents who robbed the bank to gain access to his safe, which contained sensitive information about a shady congressman. Dante approached the congressman to find out what he knew, and soon masked men were following him and attempting to shoot and kill him. That’s when Robyn had to go into equalizer mode and tell Dante to send his sons to their mother’s house, stay in a hotel that night, and pay cash until the matter be settled.

The equalizer, Dante and McCallThe sorting process included the pursuit of one of the congressman’s henchmen who led them directly to the warehouse where Atticus was being held. He was still alive (wow!), And Robyn and Dante wanted him to stay among the living, so they opened fire and finally took down the bad guys. Worst Villain almost killed Robyn, but Dante shot him before he could. That should sort things out between Robyn and Dante, right?

After the case was closed and Dante successfully reunited Atticus and his daughter and arrested the congressman, he met Robyn and told her the world needed her, and he was grateful to her for l ‘helping to find justice for her deceased colleague and friend. There was even a moment when it looked like Robyn and Dante were about to kiss, but they didn’t.

Later, Robyn told Harry and Mel that she was going to continue to equalize after all. And more importantly, she spoke to Delilah, and the two decided they would find their way back to mutual trust and respect.
