The extent has come a long way. Taken over by Amazon for the fourth season following its cancellation by Syfy, the series was quickly renewed for a fifth and then a sixth and final season on the streaming service.
At New York Comic Con Friday, The extent Star Dominique Tipper, who plays Naomi Nagata in the sci-fi drama, opened the panel with a greeting to fans and introduced the cast who shared their thoughts on the upcoming season finale. On the panel are: Steven Strait (James Holden), Wes Chatham (Amos Burton), Shohreh Aghdashloo (Chrisjen Avasarala), Nadine Nicole (Clarissa Mao) and Cara Gee (Camina Drummer), as well as showrunner Naren Shankar, and The extent writers and book authors Ty Franck and Daniel Abraham.
After the trailer premieres, Tipper asks the creators what they think about the end of the series.
“It has been a long project and it’s gratifying to see how it turned out,” Abraham said. Shankar adds: “It chokes me. I think that tells you something about where we’ve been and where we’re going. “

Franck spoke about the writing process and the state of mind that is why this coming season will be more intense than any before it.
“From the start, we had to write every script so that there was no benefit,” said Franck. “We just had to tell the story and we were there to tell, and keep our foot on the gas pedal all the way.”
There will only be six episodes this season and Tipper explained that episodes one and six were filmed with the final “oversized episode” running at 65 minutes. Shankar further explains, stating, “We always knew we wanted this to end big. There’s a lot going on in this episode. And we, by turning it early, gave us a chance to finish all the visual effects. “
Fans want to know when the sixth and final season of The extent will fall ? During the panel, Tipper announces that the season premiere date is December 10, 2021.
