Is Doctor Strange a wizard?
In a brand new clip out of Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier) argues that there is no such thing as a wizard and that Doctor Strange is a “wizard,” tyvm. Meanwhile, Sam Wilson (Falcon) retorts that “a wizard is a wizard without a hat”. Think about it!
Speaking of wizards and Gandalf, how does an old man like Bucky know such things. Well that’s because he read The Hobbit in 1937, when it first came out, obviously. But that’s the point by the way – Sam doesn’t have time to joke with Bucky. He’s gone to figure out what level of threat they’re facing, and everyone agrees it must be one of the Big three – Android, Alien and Wizard. So stop looking, Bucky!
In a second clip, also released today, Bucky manages to join Sam on the current mission, but wants to know their game plan, and here we learn two things.
1. Sam Wilson has a plan
2. Only Steve Rogers can call Bucky “Buck”, because he had known him longer.
One thing is for sure, expect a lot more banter between Sam and Bucky in the new Disney + original series, which releases in exactly one week, on Friday, March 19.
Anthony mackie and Sebastian stan, who play Sam Wilson (Falcon) and Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier) respectively, spoke with the New York Times on how the series tackles the timely premise of existing in a world still recovering from global catastrophe.
“I enter with the hypothesis that the next Captain America the movie is going to be me, ”Mackie, recalling to the NOW, about his thoughts on when he got the call for the project.
Describing the series, Stan says, “We’re going to explore where these two guys left off, with a great character missing – the prominent figure who brought them into each other’s lives. Where are they and how are they facing the world? “
The six-episode series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, will offer “timely explorations of the nature of patriotism and extremism and the values of inclusiveness, diversity and representation, in a world in search of stability after a global catastrophe”.
On how the Marvel Cinematic Universe will balance the stories they tell in theaters and on Disney +, President of Marvel Studios and Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Kevin feige explains, “When it comes to Marvel Studios, the MCU now lives in feature films and shows. We really wanted people to get used to the idea that it would be a back and forth. The story will be cohesive and equally important in both places. “
Speaking on the stage where an older Steve Rogers hands Sam Wilson in Marvel Studios’ dying moments Avengers: Endgame, Mackie reveals that this moment “was not an opportunity – it was a major burden. “
“It was not a thing to [Sam] sitting back and waiting for the shield, ”Mackie continues further with the NOW. “He wasn’t looking for a promotion at work.”
Head series writer Malcolm Spellman explains her approach to the show, and how she tackles real-world topics, “” If you want honesty for them, you can’t avoid all the trauma Bucky has been through, and you can’t avoid the fact that Sam is black. “
