(LEX 18) – On her missing Facebook page, Savannah Spurlock, her aunt, Lisa Thoma, read a statement from their family on Thursday, just minutes after a Kentucky State Police press conference. At the conference, KSP announced that the remains found on a property in Garrard County are the remains of the missing, four-year-old mother.

In their grief, the family issued a heartfelt statement thanking all those involved in Savannah's research who "kept Savannah's silent voice alive."

"We are sorry to confirm that the remains of Savannah were discovered on the grounds of a Garrard County home during the night.Our sobs of pain and physical anguish collide with moments of our beautiful memories of the vibrant and living person she was in.
