We will miss the Ferrari 488 GTB, the powerful and easy-to-drive supercar that won our 2017 best car competition. But we have the impression to appreciate its replacement, the Ferrari F8 Tributo.
The new car is equipped with a 3.9-liter V-8 engine developing 710 horsepower and a torque of 568 lb-ft. That's 49 hp and 7 lb-ft of the V-8 engine in the 488 GTB. Ferrari claims that the F8 Tributo is its most powerful car in the V-8 series to date.
According to Ferrari estimates, the F8 Tribuno can reach 100 km / h in 2.9 seconds. The maximum speed is 211 mph.
In addition to more power, the F8 Tributo is lighter and more aerodynamic than the car it replaces. Ferrari claims to be 88 pounds lighter than the 488 GTB and a 10% improvement in aerodynamic efficiency. Ferrari redesigned the S-Duct we saw for the first time on the Pista 488 to improve ground support by 15% over the 488 GTB. The new brake cooling inlets at the front help to improve the airflow.
The Ferrari F8 Tributo comes with a new version of the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer, which allows better control of lateral dynamics in high performance situations. This feature can be activated in race mode for the first time. Ferrari has also redesigned the wheel rim, reducing it in diameter.
Visually, the F8 Tributo seems similar to its predecessor. But you will notice that Ferrari has returned to the double-taillight design of the eight-cylinder berlinettes. The interior also recalls the 488 GTB, including the slim transmission tunnel. Nevertheless, Ferrari claims that every element of the dashboard, door panels and tunnel has been redesigned. You will also find new round vents and a 7-inch touch screen.
