Definitions:

Evaluation: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) listening to an average broadcast per minute. Ratings are expressed as a percentage.
Quick reviews of affiliates: These first national ratings are available around 11:00 am ET the day after the broadcast. Figures may include stations that did not broadcast the entire network, as well as local news or cuts for local coverage or other programs. Affiliate quick ratings are not as useful for live programs and may differ significantly from end results because the data reflects normal circulation flow patterns.
Share (of the public):
Percentage of households (or persons) using television that are tuned to a specific program, station, or network in a specific area at a particular time.
Time-shifted display:
Program ratings for national sources are generated in three streams: Live, Live + Same Day, and Live +7 Day. Time-shifted digits take into account the incremental visualization performed with DVRs. Live + SD includes viewing during the same broadcast day as the original broadcast, with a local time cut at 3 am when the meters transmit a daily visualization to Nielsen for processing. Live notes +7 include the visualization that takes place during the 7 days following a broadcast.
