The Flash skin is coming to Fortnite this week

If you’re looking for a little more speed in your favorite battle royale, we’ve got some great news for you. The Flash is coming to Fortnite very soon, developer Epic Games has confirmed. Players will have the chance to unlock the new superhero skin in the Flash Cup event, which takes place this Wednesday, February 10. The skin will likely also be sold separately in the Fortnite in-game store at a later date.

News that a Flash skin might be coming to Fortnite was leaked earlier this week, but it’s the first that Epic has officially confirmed. The studio is used to adding new skins as part of events like this. Back in Season 4, players who participated in the Marvel Series Special Cups were able to earn character costumes before they were sold in the Item Shop. Heroes and villains like Black Cat, Daredevil, and Venom all have their own cuts.

Epic had already dropped a few teases that The Flash was on its way to its famous battle royale game. A recent Reality Log Video shared on Fortnite’s Twitter account also refers to a “really, really” fast target, apparently alluding to the superhero.

How to get the Flash skin

To get the new Flash skin, you will need to participate in the Flash Cup event and earn enough points to place enough on the leaderboard. In Europe, everyone who ranks between 1st and 3500th will win the Flash skin and its associated back bling. North America, on the other hand, is divided into two divisions. In NA East, you will need to rank 1st – 1,750th to win the skin; in NA West, you will need to rank 1st – 500th.

As previously mentioned, Epic will likely sell the Flash skin in the Fortnite Item Shop sometime after the event. While no pricing details have yet been announced, previous superhero skins have cost 1,500 V-Bucks (or 2,200 for their packs), so the Flash skin will likely cost the same.

Some have pointed to the upcoming release of Zach Snyder’s director’s cut from the 2017 film Justice League (also known as the Snyder Cut) on March 18 as a possible date for the Flash skin to be released. However, it’s also possible that the DC-themed cuts will serve as a preparation for the release of Snyder Cut, and the Flash is just one of many character skins that will be revealed.

In other Fortnite news, the game’s Valentine’s Day-themed Hearts Wild event is now live. If you need help with this week’s challenges, check out our Season 5 Week 10 challenges guide. Fortnite developer Epic Games has announced that it currently has no plans to publicize an IPO.
