ROCKPORT, Ind. – Former Five Finger Death Punch drummer is now a police officer in southern Indiana.

Jeremy Spencer announced on Instagram that he had recently been sworn in as a reserve officer for the Rockport Police Department.

"It's an honor to be able to return to the region when I can and serve the community as a reserve police officer and help my brothers," wrote Spencer.

WFIE reports that Spencer left his hometown of Boonville, Indiana, at the age of 19. In 2005, he became the drummer of Five Finger Death Punch.

Spencer told WFIE that he had decided to pull out of the popular heavy metal band in late 2018 and get to work, at least part-time.

Spencer does not leave the music all together though. He works on other projects, sharing his time between Rockport and Las Vegas.
