Former South Carolina Gamecocks defensive lineman Byron jerideau could join Shane Beamer’s staff.
John Brice of FootballScoop tweeted that Jerideau would play a role similar to the one he occupies in Tennessee. Jerideau has been the Assistant Director of Volunteer Sports Performance since 2018.

Jerideau, who played for the Gamecocks from 2010 to 2012, worked in the program’s strength and forgiveness department from 2016 to 2017. He made saves in Houston and Appalachian State, before Will muschamp and Jeff Dillman hired him in South Carolina.
During his playing career, Jerideau had a maximum squat of 675 pounds and his highest bench press count was 500. He finished with 57 career tackles.
Jerideau, a graduate of Colleton County High School (SC), received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. His college career also included a one-year stoppage at Fort Scott Community College.

On a personal level, Jerideau also requires dedicated effort from the student-athletes he trains, but he balances that by fostering strong relationships through open and honest communication. It aims to make the weight room a high-energy, positive space for student-athletes and colleagues.
