The former husband of Jennifer Dulos released on bail

The real estate developer accused in the disappearance of his ex-wife, Jennifer Dulos, is a free man.

Fotis Dulos, 51, issued a $ 500,000 deposit just before 4 pm Tuesday and left the Stamford Superior Court still dressed in his orange jumpsuit.

He had been cooling himself at the Bridgeport Correctional Center for over a week after his arrest and his charges of tampering with evidence and impeding the prosecution.

"Thank you for doing this so fast," he told his lawyer, while ignoring the questions posed by a crush of journalists and news cameras.

Fotis jumped into a black Land Rover LR3 waiting, which took off – but not until soldiers from the state of Connecticut prevented the cars from getting out of a garage.

The father, who shares five children with Jennifer, was ordered to return his passport and wear a GPS ankle watch bracelet. He is also prohibited from leaving the state while he is on bail.

"Yes," he told the judge when he asked her if he understood the terms of his release.

Fotis and his girlfriend Michelle Troconis, who is also indicted and released on bail, pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors revealed that her DNA had been found mixed with Jennifer's blood in the home of the missing mother, New Canaan.

Jennifer was last seen on May 24 dropping off her five children at school.

She and Fotis were locked in a controversial divorce and custody battle, which was heard just hours after the criminal trial in the same Stamford court.

At this hearing, Fotis is visibly upset by the testimony of a child rights advocate, who was overflowing with financial documents that showed how much the father was providing child support.

"There are entries for children's items but not for child support," said lawyer Michael Meehan, as Fotis' cheeks turned red and his eyes narrowed.

Jennifer's attorney tried to call Mr. Fotis to the bar to lose his entire budget, but his lawyer pleaded the fifth on his behalf.
