Former Green Bay Packers receiver Jordy Nelson is retiring from the NFL after 11 seasons, said NFL Network analyst James Jones, Nelson's former teammate.

The decision ends a career that will ultimately place Nelson in the Packers Hall of Fame.

A second-round pick in 2008, Nelson captured 550 passes for 7,848 yards and 69 touchdowns in 136 games and nine seasons at Green Bay. It ranks third in the history of the franchise in terms of catches, fifth in receiving yards and second in touchdowns. He is also third in 100 yards receiving (25).

Nelson won a Super Bowl after the 2010 season and joined the Pro Bowl and All-Pro team in 2014. He also won the NFL Player of the Year title and led the league in touchdown in 2016.

The Packers released it last March. He played in the 2018 season in Oakland, scoring 63 passes for 739 yards and three touchdowns.
