Cuphead was the talk of the city when it came out in 2017, thanks to its unique combination of pixel-based platform and animation at the Fleischer Brothers. We now have a surprise update that adds new features, new animation and many locations.

With Cuphead 1.2, you can now choose Cuphead or his blue-nosed Mugman friend to play as at the beginning of each campaign. Previously, Mugman was only available to play cooperatively, but he can now be the star of the show from the jump.

Speaking of the series, Cuphead's cinematics are now fully animated. So you can enjoy more of this animation of the 1930s at your leisure when you head battle boss. There are several new combat intros for Cuphead and Mugman, and Developer Studio MDHR has added additional animations throughout the game.

The studio has also added location text in 11 additional languages. The game now supports French, Italian, German, European Spanish, Latin Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Japanese, Korean. and simplified Chinese.

Here is a VOD of Waltz streamer checking version 1.2.

MDHR Studio reports that it has also fixed and fixed some bugs, but it does not go into the details of those mentioned in the Steam ad.

It should be noted that the patches introduced required the migration of Cuphead to a newer version of Unity, which means that the game no longer supports DirectX 9; you will need DirectX 11 or later to launch it now. This is probably not a big problem for most players, but know if you are using an older machine.
